Frequently Asked Questions About our Laminated Color Business Cards
I can get business cards for much less than what you're charging. Why should I spend the money on Keep$ake Cards?
- Novelty -- When you present a customer with a Keep$ake Card, you will usually get some sort of comment about how "nice" or "cool" your cards are. This is based both on our own, personal experience and the experience of our customers. In a competitive marketplace, first impressions are one of the keys to successful sales and client relations. The Keep$ake Card will make a memorable first impression with your clients that continues to make you stand out for months, or even years to come.
- Quality -- We hand-inspect every card we produce to make sure it meets our expectations. Our cards are full-color on both sides, and are near photographic quality. The combination of color, lamination, and die-cut corners portray a professional image to your customers. Compare Keep$ake Cards to the $30 per thousand cards you get from an office supply store, or even the color business cards you get from VistaPrint and then ask yourself, "Which of these cards represent how I want to be remembered by my customers?" The extra money you spend on Keep$ake business cards will pay you back in the long run.
- Flexibility -- We started manufacturing Keep$ake Cards because we were sick and tired of throwing out unused, outdated business cards. We wanted to have high-quality, color, laminated cards that we could print in reasonable quantities. Because of our production method, we can print orders as small as 100 cards.
This opens up all sorts of possibilities for anyone who wants to frequently change the information on their business cards. A store can advertise a limited time offer on the backs of their cards. A restaurant can print cards with specials on the back of their cards that they can rotate on a regular basis. A salesperson can have specific, targeted cards for different types of clients... the possibilities are almost endless.
- The price really is competitive! -- Shop around and try and find laminated color business cards similar to these. We did -- and that's why we started manufacturing our own. You can easily spend $400 or more per thousand for full color, 2-sided laminated cards. And that's assuming you want to buy 1,000 or more cards.
Why do you charge a design fee when some other card companies design for free?
There are business card printing services that will "design" your business cards for free. This usually involves pulling a stock image and a template and plugging in your personal information.
You get what you pay for.
If you want a cookie-cutter business card, Keep$ake Cards are not for you. But if you want a custom-designed, memorable card, then Keep$ake Cards are a better option.
We will waive the $40 setup fee if you are providing camera-ready artword. Please contact us for specifications.
Can I get Keep$ake Cards without rounded corners?
One of the ways that we improve the durability of our cards is by rounding the corners with a die cutter. We have experimented with straight corners, but the cards just don't hold up as well everyday wear and tear. As a result, we only sell cards with rounded corners.
You may choose from either a 1/8" rounded corner (like a credit card) or a 1/4" corner.
Keep$ake Cards are laminated, but they're not waterproof? Why is that?
Because Keep$ake Cards are "flush cut" (i.e., the laminate is not sealed on the edges), they are not waterproof. Although the cards will repel liquids that are splashed on them, the card will absorb water through the sides if immersed . This will certainly not be a concern to most people, but we feel it is important that you understand the cards' limitations.
If you are looking for a completely waterproof card, we do offer a waterproof version. However, they are quite a bit more complicated to produce, and as a result are significantly more expensive.
Why are Keep$ake Cards a different size than standard business cards?
We did this on purpose!
First of all, these cards are designed to fit into a wallet. Keep$ake Cards are the same size as a credit card to accommodate this. Standard business cards are 1/4" wider and 1/4" shorter... try and squish one of them in your wallet and you'll see how inconvenient they are.
Secondly, we want Keep$ake Cards to stand out. Since they are slightly taller than standard business cards, they will stick out of a "deck" of business cards sitting on your customer's desk. It's just one more way that Keep$ake Cards improve your visibility.
If you are dead-set on having a standard sized business card, we can produce those as well. Please contact us for pricing and availability.
Do I have to put a photo on the card?
No! We can also design cards with only graphics, and have done cards like this in the past that look great. The laminate really makes line art and graphics jump off the page, particularly in combination with drop shadow and embossing effects.
What other suggestions do you have for things to put on the back of Keep$ake Cards?
Of course, you can put more information about your business on the backs of your cards, but there are many other things that will work well. Think in terms of information that will encourage people to keep your cards in front of them:
- Calendars of events related to your business (or just plain calendars are great, too!)
- Training schedules
- Repeat customer incentives (for example, buy 5 meals at the regular price and get the 6th free)
- Advertisements for new services or products that you are introducing
- List of items to bring to an appointment with you
- Conversion guides
